CHICORA, Pa. (July 26, 2021) – Despite kicking-off the week with a frustrating outing at Lernerville Speedway, missing Silver Cup A-Main competition against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, Chicora, Pennsylvania’s George Hobaugh persevered and made up for his lackluster result with another impressive performance at Sharon Speedway, scoring yet another top-five result in the form of a fifth-place finish on Saturday, July 24.
Hobaugh, driver of the Hobaugh Motorsports, Krill Recycling, Laskowski Plumbing, Ridgeview Security, Hobaugh’s Auto Parts, Colliers Custom Kitchen and Bath, No. 40 sprint car, started third in the $3,000-to-win program before fading slightly to fifth.
The fifth spot has been a common denominator for Hobaugh at Sharon Speedway, finishing fifth during Ohio Sprint Speedweek competition against the All Star Circuit of Champions and finishing fifth again on June 26.
“I think we were a little disappointed with how our night at Lernerville unfolded, but to bounce back for a top-five at Sharon says a lot about our team,” Hobaugh said, a Sharon Speedway winner on May 15. “We’ve built a pretty solid program for Sharon and it’s been working really well. I think we’re more than capable of getting another win there soon.”
George Hobaugh will continue his 2021 campaign with a visit to the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” on Saturday, July 31. Originally slated to be a solo $10,000-to-win showstopper, the annual Living Legends Dream Race will now feature a second $5000-to-win main event, which was added as a “thank you” to the fans and drivers for their support following the Greg Hodnett Classic rain out during Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek.” Krill Recycling, a proud supporter of Hobaugh Motorsports, helped bring the second Living Legends Dream Race main event to life.
