CHICORA, Pa. (August 8, 2022) – George Hobaugh did everything he could to secure his second Sharon Speedway victory of the 2022 season Saturday night, but despite all attempts to keep Apollo, Pennsylvania’s AJ Flick at bay, he proved to be too much, sneaking by Hobaugh as the duo raced to the white flag.
Hobaugh, a winner at Sharon Speedway on Saturday, July 30, held on to finish second in his recent attempt, adding another top-five mark to his season’s Sharon stat card that already includes a fourth-place run against the All Star Circuit of Champions in the annual Buckeye Cup.
“We were close…just not close enough,” Hobaugh said of his runner-up finish at Sharon Speedway. “Hats off to AJ Flick and his team. They’ve been quick all year and I thought we were in a position to keep them behind us. In all, a great effort by the team. I can’t thank my family and all of my supporters enough. We’ll give it another go on Friday night.”
