Pittsburgh, PA (April 28th, 2014) – Danny Holtgraver and Hunter Racing will travel to the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio this Friday and Saturday, May 2nd & 3rd; ready to do battle with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series. Holtgraver, who recently finished fifth (5th) during the 29-lap/$10,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway, will join the best sprint car drivers in the world this weekend for an opportunity to earn himself a career-first World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series victory. The two-day WoOSTP event will feature two complete programs at ‘The Big E;’ with action scheduled to begin at 7:30PM est on Friday evening, May 2nd.
“I can’t wait to get to Eldora” said Holtgraver, “That place is just awesome; I’m really not sure how else to explain it…this Hunter Racing team has been on point lately…everyone works really hard and we are excited to get to Eldora…I just can’t thank this team enough…we’ve been doing pretty well lately…hopefully we can carry that momentum into this weekend and park this ‘10H’ on the front stretch!”
Holtgraver, who pilots the Hunter Racing, Berlin Natural Bakery, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, Alternative Power Sources, WestView Motors, DKW Transport, no. 10H ‘410’ sprint car, will join many of the country’s finest this Friday and Saturday at Eldora Speedway; including current WoOSTP point leader and recent series winner, Joey Saldana. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native has visited the big half-mile in Rossburg on multiple occasions throughout his young career; qualifying and finishing respectably during many of the speedway’s most prestigious events . Holtgraver finished nineteenth (19th) during the 2013 Kings Royal ($50,000) main event last July sanctioned by the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series. The former Lernerville Speedway track champion also earned himself a seventh (7th) place finish during the 2013 UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ finale last October. This weekend will be Holtgraver’s first appearance at Eldora Speedway while piloting the Hunter Racing ‘10H.’ The full-time UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ competitor will revisit ‘The Big E’ this June 21st during the infamous Ohio Sprint Speedweek.
“I’ve had some good runs at Eldora in recent seasons…but there is always room for improvement” explained Holtgraver, “We are really confident right now as a team…and we have a lot of momentum behind us…we want to bring all of that with us this weekend and work towards an outlaw win…I just really want to thank Rob Hunter and the entire Hunter Racing team for this opportunity…it’s been a blast this year so far…hopefully we can continue that all season long!”
During recent sprint car competition, Danny Holtgraver and Hunter Racing earned a top-five finish at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, April 26th. Holtgraver finished fifth (5th) officially during the 29-lap, $10,000-to-win, UNOH All Star sanctioned Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway. The three-time UNOH All Star winner in 2013 was the second highest UNOH All Star finisher during the Bob Weikert Memorial main event; with Dale Blaney finishing second, respectably. Greg Hodnett was the Bob Weikert Memorial champion.
