BUTLER, Pa. (August 27, 2024) – It was a dream come true to take his first competitive laps at Lernerville Speedway, and although Cullen Hutchison’s night at the famed Western Pennsylvania oval ended short of the end goal, forced to conclude feature competition early after a spin while battling mid-pack, the experience achieved is nearly unmatched, already looking ahead to his next RUSH Sprint start at Tri-City Raceway Park on Sunday, September 1.
Saturday’s Lernerville visit was Hutchison’s third-ever attempt in a RUSH sprint car, and despite the mishap, the pilot of Joe Lockhart’s Lockhart Raceway No. 83 displayed promise, still “learning the ropes” in his first-ever season behind the wheel of a full-sized sprint car.
“Definitely a dream come true to race my first laps at Lernerville Speedway, and I can’t thank Joe Lockhart enough for the opportunity,” Hutchison was quick to mention. “I’m anxious to get back there and try again. I just put myself in a few bad positions and it ended up cutting our night short…that comes with limited experience. But we’ll get there. Nothing to hang our heads about. We’ll regroup and try again Sunday at Tri-City.”
ON DECK:
Cullen Hutchison and car owner Joe Lockhart will visit Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, September 1.
