MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (May 30, 2023) – Ian Madsen and TKS Motorsports are starting to find their rhythm at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, and although the Mitchellville, Iowa-based open wheel operation has yet to be victorious at Knoxville Raceway this season, recent results may indicate that the accomplishment is not too far away.

Madsen, wheelman of the Albaugh – Your Alternative, Iowa Barnstormers, Des Moines Industrial Products, deWit Construction, Jersey Freeze Ice Cream, Freedom Concrete Pumping, Finer Cuts Lawn Care, No. 2KS sprint car, finished eighth in his recent Knoxville Raceway attempt, and despite that being far from victorious, the path to get there was just as impressive, hard charging his way forward from 16th on the A-Main lineup.

Madsen’s preliminary effort at the Iowa staple included the tenth-fastest time of 30 entries, continuing on with a sixth-place outcome during heat race competition.

“We’re slowly working out the kinks…we’ll take it,” Troy Renfro, owner of the TKS Motorsports No. 2KS, said. “Having the ability and the drive to persevere is just as important as winning, and we proved our ability to persevere this weekend. I’m proud of this team. We’ll keep plugging away and get to the top eventually. That’s always been the goal.”

Other weekend highlights include finishing 16th and 18th in Huset’s Speedway’s two-day Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA) program on Sunday and Monday, May 28-29.
