Jack Sodeman, Jr. Will Attempt to Tame “Dirt’s Monster Half Mile”
Finishes Second at Wayne County Speedway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (June 16, 2016) – For the first time in 2016, Jack Sodeman, Jr. will attempt to tame Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania. Sodeman, pilot of the Glassmere Fuel, Economy Tooling, PRS Transit, Townsend Gas & Oil, Inc., Butlerbuilt, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Simpson Race Products, Triple X Race Components, No. 23JR, will visit “Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile” on Saturday night, June 18, the first of three potential visits in 2016, one of which for BOSS non-wing sprint car competition during Independence Day weekend. The North Jackson, Ohio, native owns four victories at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, three with the wing on and one without. The June 18 program will feature competition with the wings on.

“We’re looking forward to getting back to Pittsburgh,” Sodeman said. “We enjoy racing on the big half-mile. You carry a lot of speed there and it requires you to be smooth. It should be a fun night for us and extra exciting for the fans. We’re excited to get back down there.”

Before traveling to Imperial, Jack Sodeman, Jr. will kick off the upcoming weekend with the Lernerville Speedway Mid-Season Championship on Friday night, June 17. A lot is on the line Friday night at “The Action Track” with the main event winner receiving an automatic provisional for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series sanctioned Silver Cup on Tuesday, July 19. Friday night’s main event starting grid will be determined using the point standings, with Sodeman entering the program third in the championship hunt.

Jack Sodeman, Jr. will enter the weekend with a pair of recent top-ten finishes, one at Lernerville Speedway and one at the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio.

After finishing eighth at Lernerville on Friday night, June 10, despite a mechanical issue, Jack Sodeman, Jr. recovered significantly on Saturday, June 11, and finished second at Wayne County Speedway, leading a large portion of the feature program before losing his brakes, resulting in a poor handling race car. Sodeman also earned a victory during his respective heat race at the Orrville oval, a near perfect night for the second generation racer.

Unfortunately, bad luck returned on Sunday night, June 12, at the Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio. Driveline problems ended Sodeman’s night in western Ohio, resulting in a DNF after racing inside the top-five during the early portion of the main event.

“I think the weekend was on track to be a great one, just too many little problems that kept us out of the hunt,” said Sodeman. “We’ll get everything sorted out before the weekend. We have a shot and the potential to win two in a row this weekend. That’s exactly what we’ll try to do.”
