Kyle Lukon Wins The Pro Late Model Crate Sizzler Special At Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway, With Daryl Charlier, Pat Weldon, Chase Evans and Christian Schneider Also Winning On May 19, 2012.

PITTSBURGH, PA – 5/19/12 – In the Brougher’s Machine Shop Pro Late Model Fastrak Crates Olson Industries Sizzler Special, Burgettstown, PA’s Kyle Lukon earned his first win of the season in a hard fought event. Visitor Joe Martin grabbed the lead at the start of the 25 lap main with Tommy Schirnhofer Jr. right behind. Meanwhile Lukon and Mike Pegher, Jr. worked their way into contention from their 7th and 6th starting spots. Martin led the first 11 laps, when the first of two cautions appeared. On the restart the lineup was Martin, Lukon, Schirnhofer, Pegher and Nico Dabecco. Lukon grabbed the lead on the restart with Martin and Pegher behind. Pegher got by Martin and set out after Lukon a lap later. Lukon and Pegher began a battle for first. Pegher made several attempts at the top spot, but Lukon held him off. Pegher finally got by on lap 23 when the caution came out. While the field was pacing on the caution, Pegher pulled his car in the pits with mechanical problems and was done for the night. That left the lineup for the restart Lukon, John Garvin (who charged from 13th), Martin, Beau Glemba, and Andrew Satterlee (who was up from 12th). Lukon grabbed the lead on the restart and held off Garvin to pick up the win, his first of the season, and picked up $1,000 for his efforts. Behind Lukon and Garvin were Colton Flinner, Martin, Glemba, Dabecco, Satterlee, Josh Holtgraver, Schirnhofer, and Ken Chernik. Mike Johnson grabbed the lead at the start and led the first 2 laps. Charlier, who started 3rd took over on lap 3 and led the remainder of the event. Jared Miley and two time PPMS winner Michael Norris charged to second and third and caught Charlier at the end of the non-stop affair but ran out of time to mount a serious challenge. At the finish it was Charlier, Miley, Norris, Johnson, Kari Gasser, Alex Ferree, Ben Miley, Dennis Lunger, John Garvin, and Jim Stephens. The heats fell to Michael Norris and Davey Johnson.
