Jared Miley nets three main event starts amongst national talent during Florida trip
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
PITTSBURGH, PA (February 21, 2017) – Western Pennsylvania super late model hotshoe Jared Miley opened his 2017 campaign with a trip to the Sunshine State from February 13-19, joining the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for a total of seven programs, two of which halted by Mother Nature, at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida, and Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida. Despite a stout field of entries, comprised of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series competitors, “The Jet” earned three main event starts during the five contested programs, finishing as high as 12th in the running order.
“We had a lot of fun during our trip. I think the plan is to go back next year,” Jared Miley explained. “The competition is so tough down there. You have to be on top of your game every time you are on the track. We had a pretty obvious disadvantage because of our lack of experience at East Bay and Bubba Raceway Park, but we did our homework and made the best of our trip. I’m proud of what we accomplished. If anything, we are going to be that much more prepared when we start racing around home. I’m excited for the rest of the year. We have some big goals in mind, but if we keep working like we have been, I think we can accomplish anything.”
Jared Miley kicked off his 2017 Florida campaign with six straight days of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition at the East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa, Florida, from Monday, February 13, to Saturday, February 18. Four of the six programs were contested, with Miley qualifying for three main events. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native finished 22nd, 17th and 12th during his three feature starts, racing as high as sixth in the running order on the evening he finished 12th. A late restart would halt any further progress through the field.
Unfortunately, Miley’s Florida campaign ended quicker than expected; failing to qualify for feature action at Bubba Raceway Park on Sunday, February 19.
“I don’t think we had the ending that we wanted, but we’ve already moved on from that,” Miley said. “I can’t thank my family and team, as well as my supporters and dedicated sponsors, for helping us make this trip possible. We have a lot of people who dedicate a lot of time to keep our team race-ready. I am proud to be associated with those people.”
Up next on the schedule, Jared Miley plans to rejoin the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for their Ohio/Indiana weekend on Friday and Saturday, March 17-18. “The Jet” will join the nation’s best at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, for the Buckeye Spring 50, followed by the 20th Annual Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. Confirmation regarding these travel plans will be announced soon.
