Jared Miley Racing Plans to Open New Season at Mercer’s ‘Chiller Thriller’
‘Chiller Thriller’ Sanctioned by NDRL Northeast Will Award $3,000

South Park, PA (February 24th, 2014) – A new racing season for South Park, Pennsylvania’s Jared Miley will initiate in very familiar fashion; taking part in the annual ‘Chiller Thriller’ super late model program on Saturday evening, March 29th at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The 2014 ‘Chiller Thriller’ event, which will be sanctioned by the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) Northeast, will feature a $3,000-to-win program for the super late models. Miley, who was a six-time super late model main event winner in 2013, has never won a ‘Chiller Thriller’ title, but hopes to end the Mercer dry spell on March 29th. Miley was scored 21st during last year’s ‘Chiller Thriller’ main event at the Mercer bullring; Rob Blair was the victor.
“We’ve been fast at Mercer on a number of occasions” explained Matt Miley; Jared’s younger brother and crew chief, “We’ve been fast but always end up getting caught up in stuff on track…hopefully this year we can find ourselves up front at the end of the night…it would be great to kick off the new year with a win.”
Although the plan to participate in the annual ‘Chiller Thriller’ is almost for certain, the rest of the 2014 season still remains rather ‘undecided’ for the former Lernerville Speedway and Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway track champion. Jared Miley, who will pilot his familiar Jared Miley Racing, Colussy Chevrolet, Octane Graphix, Brougher’s Machine Shop, FullyInjected.com, ‘H1’ super late model again in 2014, has not determined an exact ‘plan of attack’ for the upcoming season, but has discussed the possibility of traveling the entire National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) Northeast campaign; which sanctions super late model events in all corners of Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. If ‘JMR’ decides not to follow the NDRL Northeast trail in 2014, the team will likely mimic their 2013 schedule; ‘hitting and missing’ high paying super late model events all through Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland. When not on the road chasing high-paying purses, ‘The Jet’ will be close to home competing at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania; and the Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway near Imperial, Pennsylvania. Miley was a three-time winner at both of those facilities during his 2013 campaign.
“We really don’t have a plan yet” said Matt Miley, “We’ll be at the ‘Chiller Thriller’ but that’s the only certainty for now…we’d like to race the entire NDRL Northeast deal but we are waiting to see what their entire schedule looks like…if all else fails, we’ll do something similar as last year and just do what we want and go where we want to go…we have the most fun that way.”
