LODI, California (January 4, 2021) – It was a hard-fought week in the Sooner State for Lodi, California’s JJ Loss, and despite a few mechanical hiccups and a stout field, “The Boss” persevered and left the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a powerful notebook and a high dose of confidence, already looking ahead to his visit to the Grand Canyon State on January 16.
Joining over 1000 entries spanning across seven levels of micro sprint competition, Loss participated in the one and only Tulsa Shootout during the recent week, entering three of the seven divisions hosted, Winged Outlaw, Non-Wing Outlaw, and Stock Non-Wing, all while battling head-to-head with the some of the best in the business. Loss capped his first-ever Shootout campaign with a pair of C-Main starts, as well as a D-Main start where he was victorious. The D-Main win, accomplished during the second of eight Stock Non-Wing D-Main events contested during the four-day spectacle, resulted in Loss’ first victory of the 2021 season, utilizing the pole position to race his way into a Stock C-Main.
Despite all efforts, Loss’ week ended with three C-Main starts; a great performance considering the level of competition represented at the largest micro sprint race in the world.
“I can’t thank everyone enough who made our trip to the Tulsa Shootout possible, including Ryan Wilson and Shaw Motorsports. I couldn’t have done it without them. It was a great experience and I’m excited to go back,” Loss said, driver of the California Graphics Co., KPR, Competition Suspension Incorporated (CSI), Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Freedom Offroad, Bev & Norm Warner, ISC Racers Tape, Kaeding Performance, No. 67 micro. “We learned a lot and that’s most important.”
If all goes according to plan, JJ Loss will continue his 2021 season with a trip to Adobe Mountain Speedway near Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday, January 16, set to participate in the first round of the NOW600 Cactus Region schedule. The Adobe Mountain visit will be the first of four for Loss during January and February.
