HANOVER, Pa. (July 17, 2024) – JJ Loss and JKL Racing will enter the coming weekend with heavy hearts, and in response to the loss of their dear friend and competitor, Riley Emig, Loss will fly Emig’s familiar No. 33 in his upcoming start at Lincoln Speedway.
Emig, who lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident, was 19-years-old.
“Riley was a great friend of mine, and this hit us all really hard. We wanted to do something special for him and his family,” Loss explained. “It will be an emotional night for all of us but we couldn’t think of a better way to honor our friendship.”
Loss, who competes regularly in his family-owned Next Level Signs & Graphics, Your Hometown Agents – Colby Jacobs & Neil Reichart Team, Diversified Cuts, Wolf’s Plumbing LLC, Capitol Renegade, No. 67 sprinter, will roll into the coming weekend fresh off of a Lincoln Speedway start on Saturday, July 13 – an effort cut short due to a mechanical hiccup. The 17-year-old out of Hanover kicked-off the evening program with the 17th-fastest time of 28 entries, and was battling for 12th in the “A” when the issue occurred.
“We were on pace for a great result on Saturday, that was until the car shut off,” Loss added. “Something internal caused the issue, but we have it all resolved and we’re ready to try again.”
