Pittsburgh, PA – 8/29/12 – Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will host the annual ‘Jook George Memorial Classic’ this Saturday evening, September 1st; featuring a 40 lap, $2,012-to-win main event for the Brougher’s Machine Shop Pro-Lates, and incoming FASTRAK/Pro-Late Model teams. Team Fully Injected Pro-Late/FASTRAK late model stars, Colton Flinner and Joe Martin, both plan to be in action Saturday night; each looking to snag the $2,012 top prize, along with a year’s worth of bragging rights. Colton Flinner is the current Brougher’s Machine Shop Pro-Lates point leader at the Imperial, Pennsylvania oval. Flinner has one win at the big half-mile in 2012, and will look to secure win #2 this weekend. Joe Martin, a Ringgold, Pennsylvania native and former FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series regular, also has one win at ‘Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile’ in 2012, and hopes to use that momentum to catapult his familiar ’55’ to the front this Saturday night! The prestigious Pro-Late/FASTRAK late model Labor Day weekend event will be co-headlined by a full evening lineup of Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway weekly division action.

Colton Flinner in action at PPMS earlier this season!

Colton Flinner is the defending Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway Pro-Late track champion, and hopes to secure his second title this weekend. The Allison Park, Pennsylvania native has had more than an ‘up-and-down’ season in 2012; suffering from bad pill draws and tough feature inversions on what seems like a regular basis. Flinner hopes to use this weekend’s ‘Jook George Memorial Classic’ as a year ending statement, and capture two season-ending goals in one weekend. The familiar black and orange ’75’ has an 11 point advantage in the current track standings over Western Pennsylvania rival, Kyle Lukon, and could secure the 2012 track championship with a solid finish this weekend.

“Winning this race would be very special to us” explained Flinner, “Jook was a great person and to win a memorial event in honor of him would be huge…just a really important weekend.”

Joe Martin in action earlier this year!

Western Pennsylvania FASTRAK late model star, Joe Martin, has only finished outside of the top 10 once during his last ten starts. The former FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series regular has four wins in 2012, and over 15 top-5 finishes! The Joe Martin Motorsports ’55’ has visited Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway victory lane once already this season, and hopes to make a second appearance this Saturday night, September 1st, during the annual ‘Jook George Memorial Classic.’ Martin has also picked up wins at Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, Pennsylvania on two separate occasions in 2012, along with earning a win during FASTRAK Northeast competition at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. This weekend’s ‘PPMS’ headliner will help kick-0ff the final stretch of the 2012 season for Joe Martin Motorsports.

“We are really looking forward to this weekend… extremely excited!” said Chuck Martin; Joe Martin’s brother and car chief, “We want to get a win really bad..we have been so close on so many different occasions…it is just time for us to get back to victory lane!”
