Martin in action at Sharon Speedway!

Joe Martin, who is recently coming off of a FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series $2,000 victory, will get a weekend off this Friday and Saturday before hitting the road for six straight nights of action beginning next Tuesday, July 3rd! The Ringgold, Pennsylvania native found FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series victory lane this past Saturday night, June 23rd, at Sharon Speedway near Hartford, Ohio. This was Martin’s first touring series win of the 2012 season; ending a long run of up and down luck for the Martin Farms/Wylie Race Cars/Allegheny Crane Rental/Fully Injected ’55.’ The JM2 Motorsports program will waste no time this weekend relaxing, as six straight nights of racing for the ’55’ team will kick-off next Tuesday night at Marion Center Speedway in Marion Center, Pennsylvania!

Before hitting the road for five straight nights with the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series starting next Wednesday, July 4th for the ‘Cross The Borders’ speedweek, Martin and company will venture to hometown territory for a $1,500-to-win pay day to make it an even six straight nights of racing! Marion Center Speedway in Marion Center, Pennsylvania will be hosting an ‘Independence Day’ special on Tuesday night, July 3rd; offering $1,500-to-win pay days for the super late models and steel block late models. Martin will race his crate late model against the steel block entrees; hoping to upset the field for a healthy pre-speedweek pay day!

“We are really excited to race at Marion Center Speedway” explained Chunk Martin, head mechanic for the JM2 Motorsports ’55’ crate late model team, “We spent a lot of time there as kids going to the races…getting a chance to race there is something we really looked forward to doing!”

After a Tuesday night special at Marion Center Speedway, Martin will head east to Expo Speedway in Cortland, Ohio to kick off five straight nights of FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series action for the ‘Cross the Borders’ Speedweek. The Wednesday night, July 4th event at Expo will pay $2,000-to-win. After their stop in Cortland, Ohio, Martin and the entire series will venture to McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, PA on Thursday, July 5th for a $1,200-to-win pay day; Raceway 7 near Conneaut, Ohio on Friday, July 6th for a $1,200-to-win pay day; Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway near Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, July 7th for a $1,200-to-win pay day; and wrapping up their speedweek on Sunday, July 8th for a $2,000-to-win pay day at Eriez Speedway near Erie, Pennsylvania. The five night speedweek series will also offer a $3,000 point fund to award the drivers and teams who spend the long weekend on the road. Martin looks to be successful during the entire six night stretch; as big money is on the line each and every night the car touches the dirt!
