Team Fully Injected crate late model standout, Joe Martin, finished his Memorial Day weekend with two consecutive top five finishes in local and regional competition. The Ringgold, Pennsylvania native secured his first top five finish of the weekend Friday night, May 25th, at Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, Pennsylvania; and his second on Saturday evening, May 26th, at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. Sharon Speedway was hosting the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series crate late models for two full nights this past weekend (Saturday and Sunday) for the Bill Emig Memorial, but inclement weather forced Sunday night’s event to be postponed. Martin was scheduled to start on the pole of Sunday night’s Bill Emig Memorial finale at Sharon Speedway.

The full-time FASTRAK Northeast competitor finished 3rd on Friday night during local competition at Dog Hollow Speedway after starting the crate late model main event from the last position. Mechanical failures during heat race action forced the Martin Farms ’55’ to start at the tail end of the feature lineup. Martin’s third place performance on Friday night would be backed up by another third place finish on Saturday evening at Sharon Speedway during the first night of the Bill Emig Memorial sanctioned by the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series. Once again, the Wylie racecar charged from deep within the pack; falling back as far as 10th at the start of the FASTRAK main event before rallying to finish inside the top three. Sunday night’s Bill Emig Memorial finale at Sharon Speedway was rained out. The make-up date for the event is scheduled for August 18th and Martin will start the rescheduled feature from the pole position.

The upcoming weekend will feature local competition for the Martin Farms/Zerowraps/’55.’ Joe Martin Motorsports will head back to Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, Pennsylvania for one night of action on Friday, June 1st. The Friday night event at Dog Hollow Speedway will act as a warm-up and test date for the upcoming FASTRAK Northeast event at the venue on Friday, June 8th. The team now has 7 top five finishes in their last 10 starts as they continue to chase the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series Championship.
