NDRL’s McKean County and Sharon Speedway Highlight Joe Martin’s Upcoming Weekend Schedule

Ringgold, PA (May 23rd, 2013) – Western Pennsylvania crate late model ‘hotshoe’ Joe Martin, and his Joe Martin Motorsports (JM2 Motorsports) ‘55’ team, will be very busy during the upcoming holiday weekend; as three Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series events highlight Martin’s upcoming racing schedule. Martin, who pilots the JM2 Motorsports, Extreme Plastics Plus, Allegheny Crane Rental, George Washington Hotel, Spartan Thru Tubing, no. 55 crate late model, will kick of his Memorial Day weekend with RUSH Touring crate late model competition on Thursday evening, May 23rd, at the NDRL’s McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, Pennsylvania. From East Smethport, the former FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division traveler, and former multi-time FASTRAK ‘weekly’ winner, will travel southwest to the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio for two consecutive evenings of RUSH Touring competition on Saturday and Sunday, May 25th & 26th. All three (3) Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series events are worth $1,500 to the winner; with $1,500 of added point fund money going towards the Sharon Speedway double-header. The holiday weekend has the potential of being worth $5,000 for JM2 Motorsports; if the pilot of the familiar ‘55’ team can sweep all three events, and simultaneously capture the $500 point title bonus from Sharon Speedway’s ‘Bill Emig Memorial’ RUSH Touring Series double-header.
Although Joe Martin has yet to find victory lane during his very-young 2013 crate late model campaign, the Ringgold, Pennsylvania native has been able to earn multiple top five and multiple top ten finishes. The pilot for JM2 Motorsports has earned seven (7) top five finishes already this season; while also earning an incredible nine (9) top ten finishes in just ten (10) starts. With three Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series events in the works for the upcoming weekend, Joe Martin will be given the opportunity to not only score his first win of the 2013 season, but also score a first-career RUSH Touring Series victory. A few 2013 season highlights for Joe Martin include two (2) runner-up finishes at the Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, and a runner-up finish at the Marion Center Speedway in Marion Center, Pennsylvania. All three runner-up finishes came during ‘weekly’ crate late model competition.
In recent Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series competition, Joe Martin scored a fifth (5th) place finish during the series’ inaugural main event at the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland back on April 20th. The $2,500-to-win Hagerstown RUSH touring series event was the first and only event for the series in 2013. Joe Martin will enter the upcoming Memorial Day Sweeney RUSH swing currently fourth (4th) in the series’ driver standings; trailing touring series point leader, Rick Singleton, by eight (8) markers.
