VINCENTOWN, N.J. (June 17, 2019) – Perhaps the highlight of his young career, just surpassing his top-five accomplishment at Port Royal Speedway in 2018 – leading several laps in the process – Vincentown, New Jersey’s Justin Whittall battled with some of the best in the business on Saturday night and nearly beat them all, crossing under the final checkers second in the running order during a start at Port Royal Speedway on June 15.
Whittall kicked-off his evening at the Speed Palace with a third place finish during his respective heat race. The former URC full-timer started second on the feature grid.
The podium performance, his first of 2019, could not have happened at a better time, as the positive momentum shift will prove to be beneficial with Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek just around the corner.
“That was a lot of fun. It was a great way to spend Father’s Day weekend,” Justin Whittall expressed, a recent high school graduate and driver of the JW Motorsports/Atlantic Utility Trailer/Brotherton Brewing Company/Pioneer Auto Body/Worldwide Bearings/No. 67 sprint car. “I can’t thank my dad, family, and all of my supporters enough. Anytime you have the opportunity to stand on the podium against a field like that says a lot. I think we have a lot of podiums left in the tank, and hopefully a win. I guess if we are going to get hot, this is the time to do it.”
Before Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek commences, Whittall will first rejoin the Pennsylvania Posse during starts at Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway on Friday and Saturday, June 21 & 22, respectively; Speedweek will begin on Friday, June 28.
