By Fully Injected Motorsports:
VINCENTOWN, N.J. (April 2, 2018) – Justin Whittall’s 2018 campaign will begin in less than a week, set to ignite another season on the road with the United Racing Club (URC) with a doubleheader in the Carolinas on Friday and Saturday, April 6-7. The Vincentown, N.J., native will visit Carolina (N.C.) Speedway and Lancaster (S.C.) Motor Speedway during his opening weekend of 360 cubic inch sprint car competition, joining the best of not only the URC, but also the United Sprint Car Series (USCS).
“We are ready to get the new year started,” 17-year-old Whittall explained. “I can’t thank my family and supporters enough for getting me to this position. We have a lot of dedicated partners who keep us prepared and race-ready. It takes a lot of time and effort, but I think we are ready to go.”
Driver of the JW Motorsports/Atlantic Utility Trailer/Brotherton Brewing Company/Pioneer Auto Body/Worldwide Bearing/No. 67 sprint car, Whittall will enter 2018 with plenty of momentum and plenty of confidence, rolling into the new year hot off of a sixth place finish in the final URC championship standings, also earning Selinsgrove Speedway Rookie of the Year honors. Although just short of attaining a victory, Whittall highlighted his 2017 campaign with a podium run in the Empire State; third with the URC at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York.
“We learned a lot last season. All we can do now is apply what we’ve learned and put our notes to work,” Whittall continued. “It’s going to be a lot of fun starting the new year in the Carolinas. If anything, we get to escape the Northeast and head for warmer temperatures.”
Whittall’s 2018 United Racing Club schedule includes 30 events primarily scattered across areas of Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. In addition, Whittall plans to join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at the nearby Bridgeport (N.J.) Speedway on May 22, as well as trek to Ohio and Michigan for select 360c.i. starts.
