Mechanicsburg – As the autumn of the racing season arrives at Williams Grove Speedway the point chase is as red hot as the blazing hues on the trees at this time of year as sprint car titans Greg Hodnett and Don Kreitz Jr. battle week after week for the 2014 track crown.
And their battle will continue again this Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway when the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprints and the Tool Shed of America 358 sprints join for exciting racing action.
Friday competition gets underway at 7:30 pm.
Adult general admission is set at $14 with youth ages 13 – 20 priced at just $8.
Senior Citizen general admission pricing will also be in effect with fans born in 1957 or earlier admitted for just $8.
And please remember, kids ages 12 and under are always admitted free at Williams Grove Speedway.
Hodnett and Kreitz have traded the point lead back and forth over the last two months with Kreitz currently on top of the standings by a scant margin of 70 points while time is running out to wrap up the title for both men.
After this Friday’s event, just four point races remain on the 2014 Williams Grove schedule of events.
The most pivotal of those four races is the impending STP World of Outlaws National Open at the oval, slated for October 3 and 4.
Next week, September 26 will find Williams Grove hosting a World of Outlaws tune up event in preparation for the National Open.
The September 26 event will also decide the 2014 Diamond Series champion with Hodnett holding the series lead heading into the finale.
The World of Outlaws sprint car National Open event will pay $50,000 to the winner of the Saturday night 40-lapper on October 4.
