LES MYERS’ ROCKET RACING TO OFFER A TRANSMISSION REBUILD PLAN FOR ALL SWEENEY RUSH SPORTSMAN MODIFIED MEMBER RACERS
May 5, 2014
(By Mike Leone) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Pulaski, PA)…After an entire offseason of planning and finally the inaugural race in the record books, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Sportsman Modified Series Directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone continue to work on programs surrounding the Series. Modified great Les Myers of Rocket Racing has come on board to offer a transmission rebuild plan for all member racers!
Myers will rebuild Modified transmissions for $75 labor (normally $125) plus parts. Myers builds all types of race transmissions including Bert, Bert 2nd generation, Falcon, Brinn , and R.P.M. Myers has some used parts on hand and can donate to help the racers out. Myers also rebuilds rear-end and steering boxes, rebush spindles and kingpin along with straightening front axles and does major and minor chassis repairs.
“Any business I receive is greatly appreciated,” acknowledged the Reno, Pa. resident. “I’ll work with the Sportsman Modified racers to help the division and save them some money. Turn-around time for my repairs can be as little as one day!”
“Not long ago we released a press release on the support that regional Big-Block Modified racers were giving the Series,” stated Emig. “Now to have Les step up and not only offer his support, but back it up by a program of such means a lot to us. Modified racers young and old know of the success Les had on the speedway, but his craftsmanship off the track is second to none.”
After a stellar career in Modified racing throughout western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio, Myers continued to race in the Stock Car division in the new millennium and now competes in the Vintage Modified division. His step-son, Jeremy Paup, is looking forward to returning to Modified racing in the new Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modified division.
Rocket Racing is located at 409 Oak St., Reno, PA 16343. Les can be reached at 814-676-1932.
