PARSONS, Kan. (June 27, 2022) – It was a weekend to remember for JKL Racing and Parsons, Kansas, hotshot JJ Loss, not only earning a starting position in Port City Raceway’s Donnie Ray Crawford Memorial on Saturday, June 25, but scoring a podium performance in the process.
Resulting in Loss’ seventh top-five outcome of the season, the recent Highbanks Hustle A-Main starter finished third in his podium appearance, locking himself into the 55-lap memorial via Friday’s preliminary effort. There were 44 entries on hand for the Winged A-Class program with only 20 eligible to make the final call on Saturday night.
Actually, it was an all-podium weekend for Loss and his family-owned micro team, capping the preliminary program on Friday with a third-place finish, as well. Loss’ Friday night effort allowed the youngster to skip Saturday’s heat races and drive right to the dash; he finished fourth.
“It was a great effort by the entire team and I’m proud to earn a podium,” JJ Loss explained, driver of the Next Level Signs and Graphics Co., Driven Midwest, Journey Transport, White Pine Paving, Ryan Wilson, CSI, Keizer Performance Wheels, Radical Race Gear, No. 67 micro. “We are fortunate to have a facility like Port City just two hours from our shop. We have a lot of events circled on their calendar including this weekend’s Milestone Outlaw Nationals. Hopefully we can transition some of this momentum into next weekend. I know we have the potential to compete with anyone.”
ON DECK:
JJ Loss and JKL Racing will continue their 2022 micro campaign with the Milestone Outlaw Nationals at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Wednesday through Saturday, June 29-July 2. The Winged Outlaw blockbuster will cap with a $10,000-to-win finale on Saturday night.

Earned four consecutive top-five finishes, two during Stock Non-Wing and two during Winged A-Class competition, at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 25-26. Finished 12th and 13th in Winged A-Class competition at Port City on April 1-2. Earned a pair of top-ten finishes in Port City Raceway visit on Saturday, April 9; seventh in Stock Non-Wing and eighth in Winged A-Class. Rallied from 15th to sixth in Port City’s A-Class make-up event on Friday, April 29. Won Winged A-Class weekly points event at Port City Raceway on Saturday, April 30. Highlighted Terry Walker Memorial at Port City Raceway with top-ten (against 46 cars) in Winged A-Class on Saturday, May 7. Qualified for Southern Illinois Raceway’s Highbanks Hustle A-Main on Saturday, June 18; DNF, but scored 13th out of 95 total entries. Finished third in Donnie Ray Crawford Memorial at Port City Raceway on Saturday, June 25; finished third in preliminary as well.
