PARSONS, Kan. (March 21, 2022) – It was not the best of weekends for JJ Loss and JKL Racing, missing main event action during each night of Port City Raceway’s Rayce Rudeen Foundation Non-Wing Shootout on March 18-19, but despite the hardship and frustrating results, the team is already aiming big for their I-30 Speedway debut, set for Friday and Saturday, March 25-26.
There were nearly 80 entries in attendance for Port City’s Non-Wing Outlaw class, but despite the depth, Loss was able to highlight his weekend with a six-spot jump in the first of two C-Mains on Saturday, followed by a seven-spot rally in one of two B-Mains that followed. Although his persistence was obvious, and his ability to climb through the field did not lack, his B-Main outcome was short of an A-Main qualifying position, as only three competitors from each “B” made the call.
Failing to mention, Loss, who now calls Parsons, Kansas, home after moving from the West Coast to pursue his Midget aspirations with Dave Mac Dalby Motorsports, was also caught up in a B-Main incident during his pursuit of an A-Main starting position. Loss was able to return, but progress was cut short.
“All we can do is regroup and try again,” Loss said, driver of the JKL Racing, California Graphics Co., Journey Transport, White Pine Paving, Ryan Wilson, CSI, Keizer Performance Wheels, Radical Race Gear, No. 67 micro. “When you’re racing against a field of that size and with that much talent, every lap and every position is just as important as the next. We struggled with our set-up early on in the weekend, but I think we know what we have to change for next time. We’ll get a fresh start at I-30.”
