Lucas Oil ASCS Prepares for Midweek Showdowns

Tulsa, Oklahoma (May 20, 2012) Regional favorites with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior and Midwest Regions, Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri just outside Kansas City and I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska are set to host a pair of mid-week shows with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV.

Pairing with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior region Wednesday May 23rd, Valley Speedway will add its names to the list of first time visits in 2012; become the 121st track to host the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV since 1992. A signature facility in the Missouri racing scene, the high banked 1/3 mile clay oval has been the proving grounds to some of the nation’s top drivers including Warrior Region regular, and hometown favorite, Brian Brown as well as current Lucas Oil ASCS rookie contender Brad Loyet who took Warrior Region rookie and championship honors in 2011. Support classes for Wednesday’s event include the W.A.R. Sprints and Mod Lites.

From the Kansas City metro area, the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV will next visit I-80 Speedway, located just outside the village of Greenwood, Nebraska, for a single night event with the Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest Region on Thursday May 24th. Formerly Nebraska Raceway Park, the Lucas Oil ASCS Presented by MAVTV has graced the 4/10 mile oval a half-dozen times with a different winner on all six occasions. Support classes for this Thursday’s race night include the B-Mods, Grand Nationals, and Pro Ams.

After rains postponed I-30 Speedway events into the month of June, points for the Lucas Oil ASCS remain unchanged with Wayne Johnson atop the leader board. Jason Johnson sits only 30 markers behind with Brady Bacon sitting third. Johnny Herrera sits only 3 points out of the top three with Gary Wright rounding out the top five.

After early season woes Brad Loyet has fought back to sixth in the national standings with Tony Bruce Jr. seventh, Danny Wood eighth, and Seth Bergman ninth after picking up the win at the Rock ‘N Roll 50. Dustin Morgan currently rounds out the top ten.
