Lucas Oil’s Diamond Classic complete; Doney-Lawson Racing eyes Eldora Speedway appearance with Sammy Swindell as team mentor
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
ODESSA, Mo. (June 30, 2025) – Xavier Doney, Doney-Lawson Racing (DLR) and the Schnee-Lawson Chassis House Cars made the most of their three-day visit to Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, not only earning three-consecutive High Limit Racing A-Main starts, but nearly attaining a top-ten in the process, accomplishing their weekend high in Thursday’s Midweek Series/Diamond Classic opener.
Xavier Doney, a full-time competitor with the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint League aboard his Design Source Flooring, Schnee-Lawson Chassis, Motor Haven, MVP Logistics, T&T Equine, Prime Composite, Steve & Mandy Griffin Family, JDLawsonMedia, Stanton Racing Engines, No. 74 sprint car, finished 12th in his near-top-ten, commencing action from 13th on the grid. Doney launched Thursday’s program with the tenth-fastest qualifying time of 30 entries, driving on to finish fifth in his respective heat race
Although unable to match Thursday’s outcome, the young man out of Odessa, Missouri, closed out Lucas Oil’s Diamond Classic with 16th and 23rd-place finishes, respectively – sound outcomes considering his High Limit Racing company he was amongst.
Natalie Doney, younger sister and teammate at Doney-Lawson Racing, did not compete.
With Lucas Oil Speedway’s Diamond Classic officially in the books, Doney-Lawson Racing will now begin preparations for their four-day venture to Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, set to join High Limit Racing and the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for Kings Royals week July 16-19.
Joining Doney-Lawson Racing in their Ohio venture will be three-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion and National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Sammy Swindell, set to take on team coach and mentor role during DLR’s stay at The Big E. In fact, Swindell’s tenure at DLR will extend beyond Eldora Speedway, helping to mold the young aces for multiple races through the height of the summer.
