Elida, Ohio (April 20th, 2015) – ‘Mad Max’ Stambaugh kicked-off his 2015 K&L Ready Mix NRA ‘360’ Sprint Invaders season on a solid note during the recent weekend; opening the 2015 NRA campaign with a top-five finish at the Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio. Stambaugh, who will follow the entire NRA schedule in 2015, started fourth and finished fourth on Friday evening, April 17th at the Lima bullring; surviving the 25-lap main event with a ‘sour’ engine. The Elida, Ohio native will rejoin the NRA ‘360’ Sprint Invaders on Friday evening, April 24th back at the Limaland Motorsports Park.
“Despite some engine issues, we had a pretty good night on Friday at Limaland” said Max Stambaugh, “Started the night with a heat race win so that helped us build a little bit of momentum…we were running second in the main but our motor went sour…I was able to hang on to finish fourth…we’ll be back with the NRA this Friday at Limaland…I just want to thank Jody Long, Trey Bowman, Derrik Long, and everyone else that is a part of this team…these guys work hard and I appreciate it.”
Stambaugh visited the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio on Saturday evening, April 18th; joining the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) ‘410’ Championship Series for their first Fremont appearance of 2015. ‘Mad Max’ qualified for the F.A.S.T. main event after winning his respective heat race; he would not finish and would be scored 20th.
“Just a rough night at Fremont” said Stambaugh, “We qualified bad but won our heat race so that put us in the show…just struggled and didn’t finish…I’m not real sure of the plan yet for this Saturday…we have a few ideas in mind but we’ll get that figured out soon.”
Saturday night plans for the upcoming weekend will be determined soon. Stambaugh and the ‘6M’ team discussed Fremont Speedway and Atomic Speedway as possibilities for the upcoming weekend.
Max Stambaugh’s 2015 NRA campaign consists of twenty-five dates between April 17th and October 10th. ‘Mad Max’ finished second in the series championship in 2014.
