FOREST, Ohio (October 25, 2021) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports did their best to cap their 2021 season on a positive note, and a positive note is what they achieved, ultimately turning a pair of Gas City Speedway starts into a pair of top-ten finishes.

Dubbed the Fall Festival of Speed, Gas City’s doubleheader and season finale was unexpectedly transitioned into a one-day program, as foul Friday weather forced all of the Friday features to be conducted on Saturday afternoon. Despite the fact, Westfall performed well against a stacked pit area and finished seventh during each of the Fall Festival outings, highlighted by an impressive rally from 13th during the Friday feature.

With the team’s 2021 calendar officially concluded, Westfall, driver of Ray Marshalls’ Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Hempy Water/DPI Ink/”Bumblebee Express,” will head straight into the off-season, set to tear down and rebuild while keeping his eyes fixated on the new year. Although the Pleasant Hill, Ohio-native was two victories shy of matching his 2020 season total, Westfall’s success rate and consistency was every bit as impressive, padding his 2021 highlight reel with a Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) championship, as well as two victories in the non-wing ranks, one of which a BOSS win in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Creating a near-perfect weekend, the evening prior to his Pittsburgh victory, Westfall was second at Lernerville Speedway.

In addition to his triumph at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Westfall and Ray Marshall were victorious at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana, on Friday, April 9.

“It was good to end our season on a positive note. Heading into the off-season with some positive momentum is always important…it keeps you motivated,” Westfall said, now a two-time BOSS champion. “I just can’t say it enough…a big thanks to Ray Marshall and the entire team for making a season like ours possible. Ray’s love for sprint cars is what allows us to be out here racing every weekend. I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today without Ray’s hard work and dedication. We’re not exactly sure of a plan for next year…time will tell.”

“Matt and the team did a fantastic job this season…I’m proud of everyone,” Ray Marshall added. “We believe in Matt and we believe in what this team is capable of achieving. I don’t think we’re too sure on a plan for 2022 yet, but we’ll see soon enough.”

Upcoming plans for Westfall and Ray Marshall will be determined in the coming weeks. Fans are expected to keep alert online, as well as on social media, for any news pertaining to Ray Marshall Motorsports.
