FOREST, Ohio (October 14, 2019) – Matt Westfall and Ray Marshall Motorsports put together an impressive campaign in 2019, complete with not only six victories, but also a Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) championship, a first-ever for Westfall during a first-ever attempt. Westfall and Marshall acquired four Series victories during their championship march most recently during a visit to Atomic Speedway on Saturday, October 5.
Although the Forest, Ohio-based race outfit was unable to cap their season with another trip to victory lane, a top-ten performance was attained, this time finishing eighth during the BOSS/non-wing segment of the Bob Hampshire Classic at Waynesfield Raceway Park on Saturday, October 12.
Westfall kicked-off his Hampshire Classic visit with the second fastest time during qualifying time trials, finishing third during his respective heat race soon thereafter.
“I think ending our season with a win was the ultimate goal, but to cap a consistent season with another top-ten finish is pretty special. I can’t thank Ray Marshall and the entire team enough for their hard work in 2019,” Matt Westfall expressed. “I’m excited to see what the future brings.”
“Matt (Westfall) did a great job. I’m proud of what this team was able to accomplish,” Ray Marshall said, owner of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Crazy Lady Restaurant and Bar/Hempy Water/DPI Ink/No. 33M sprint car, known by many as ‘Bumblebee Express.’ “It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to put a season like we had together. We were privileged enough to have a prime recipe for success.”
With their 2019 season officially in the books, Ray Marshall Motorsports will begin the tough task of tearing down and rebuilding for the new year. A 2020 plan of attack will be unveiled in the near-future.
