Racing on a bullring tends to be tricky; especially when you only have  25 laps to hard charge from a 22nd starting position to the front of a heavily competitive western Pennsylvania field. Brandon Matus, the Wampum native, Fully Injected teammate, and still relatively new face to sprint car competition,  kept his cool and kept himself out of trouble Saturday night, for the most part, and rallied from a 22nd starting spot to finish in the top 12 at the Mercer Raceway Park.

“We had a pretty good night; I was in a hurry to pass cars but had a little bit of damage happen to us in the mean time..”  Matus explained.  “We suffered some cosmetic damage as well as some damage to bolt on parts…we got our rear end knocked out of square, too, and broke a radius rod…it happens.”

Brandon finished 12th out of the 30+ cars that signed in for the Saturday evening event at the Mercer bullring. The weather finally cooperated and allowed for a solid Saturday night.

The third generation sprint car driver will hit up his usuals this weekend; racing at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on Friday night before heading back to Mercer on Saturday.
