FREMONT, Ohio (May 28, 2019) – Things were seemingly on the right track for the ‘Texas Traveler’ T.J. Michael during the start of Memorial Day weekend, kicking things off with the second fastest time during his respective group of All Star Circuit of Champions qualifying time trials at Attica Raceway Park, soon followed by a third place finish during heat race action.

Unfortunately, Michael experienced a swift and negative momentum shift during the 40-lap main event, as a stopped car on the race track left the Texas-native with nowhere to go, ultimately resulting in hard contact while battling for a top-ten position; Michael did not return and was scored 24th.

Bad luck followed Michael throughout Memorial Day weekend, as Mother Nature erased all hope for FAST Series competition at Fremont Speedway on Saturday, followed by mechanical issues during FAST Series action at I-96 Speedway on Sunday.

“Just one of those things, I guess,” Michael said, driver of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Architectural Stone/Crown Battery/Fremont Fence Company/Pro-Tech Services/Wood Heating and Air Conditioning/Kear’s Speed Shop/Wings Unlimited/Soul Fully Rooted/Big D’s Pizza/No. 8M sprint car. “It’s tough to swallow because we had such a good car on Friday. I think we were solid enough to finish well within the top-ten, or even the top-five. Regardless, I’m proud of this team and their efforts during the weekend. We have a big weekend ahead, so we’ll put all of our focus on that.”

Up next on the schedule, T.J. Michael and Michael Motorsports will make the trip to Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio, for the annual Sprint Car World Championship. The three-day showcase, taking over Mansfield headlines on Thursday through Saturday, May 30-June 1, will award a $100,000 grand prize on Saturday night; one of the largest paying sprint car events on the planet.
