FREMONT, Ohio (March 29, 2021) – For the second time in his career, and for the second time at Waynesfield Raceway Park, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael is a FAST Series main event winner, doing so during the 2021 FAST season lidlifter on Saturday, March 27. The $5,500 payday is now the richest score of Michael’s career, just surpassing his 2019 Rick Ferkel Classic win total that equaled $5,000.

Utilizing a front row starting position to set the tone for his feature performance, Michael drove on to secure a competitive pace, battling head-to-head with Gary Taylor for the first circuit before taking a backseat to the Seeling No. 97 on lap two. Lockbourne’s Cole Duncan was the next to make a move, using traffic to sneak around Michael and Taylor to take command on lap ten. It would not take long for Michael to repeat Duncan’s actions, eventually following Duncan by Taylor to reclaim second on lap 13.

Just three circuits later, Michael was in control, taking advantage of Duncan’s misfortune while the former FAST champ attempted to navigate by a slower car. Duncan’s spin allowed Michael to inherit the top spot, and that is where the Texan stayed, eventually withstanding a last-ditch effort maneuver by Taylor during a restart with one lap remaining.

“What a night for this team. We spent a few weeks out on the road with the World of Outlaws and basically got our butts kicked. But nights like this prove why racing with that level of competition is so important. You can learn so much from racing the World of Outlaws and this win justifies that,” Michael said, driver of the Michael Motorsports, Advanced Architectural Stone, Crown Battery, Fremont Fence Company, Pro-Tech Services, Wood Heating and Air Conditioning, Kistler Racing Engines, Elite Wings, Big D’s Pizza, Viva Los Healthy, M&L Graphics, HP Striping and Seal Coating, No. 8M sprint car. “The plan is to head into the All Star points opener at Attica on Friday and maintain this level of momentum. It’s going to be a big night and we are excited to do it again.”

T.J. Michael and Michael Motorsports will continue their 2021 campaign with a two-night stay at the always-racey Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday, April 2-3, officially launching the 2021 All Star points championship. The two-day Spring Nationals program will feature two, full shows awarding a total winner’s share equalling $11,000; $5,000 on Friday and $6,000 on Saturday.
