By Fully Injected Motorsports:
FREMONT, Oh. (May 16, 2016) – The “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael continued his impressive rookie season with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on Friday evening, May 13, at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania, charging from 25th on the main event grid to finish 13th, earning a “Hard Charger Award” for the second time in the last month. Michael, pilot of the Michael Motorsports, Advanced Cast Stone, Fremont Fence Company, Kear’s Speed Shop, Shell Shock, Hinchman Suits, Snap-On, Kistler Racing Engines, No. 8M, is currently fifth in the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions standings, leading all series rookies thus far in 2016.
Other impressive hard charges by Michael include advancing from row ten to finish 13th at Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway on April 17, followed by a passing clinic at Port Royal Speedway on April 23; charging from 19th to 9th.
“My guys had my car rolling on Friday night,” said T.J. Michael. “We were excited about our performance, that’s for sure. I think once we nail down our qualifying effort, we’ll be in great shape. We’ve shown our potential and we have the ability to pass cars, we just now have to get ourselves in a little better starting position. I can’t thank my team enough for what they do. We’re thrilled to be where we are right now. We are only going to get faster.”
T.J. Michael will continue his 2016 Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions effort this Friday and Saturday, May 20-21, with a pair of events in Illinois and Wisconsin. The Plano, Texas, native, who races out of Fremont, Ohio, during the summer months, will begin his upcoming road trip on Friday night, May 20, at the Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois. Action will resume on Saturday evening, May 21, at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin, a co-sanctioned event with the Interstate Racing Association (IRA) sprint cars. It will be a first ever appearance for Michael at each of the upcoming venues, as well as a first and only appearance by the Arctic Cat All Stars in 2016.
“Racing with this tour full-time requires a lot of travel, but that’s one of the best parts about it,” said T.J. Michael. “Many of the places we visit are new to us, and that will continue this Friday and Saturday. We’ll treat this trip like any other; keep our focus and work forward all weekend.”
