FREMONT, Ohio (September 8, 2020) – The “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael put together a head-turning performance during Attica Raceway Park’s Attica Ambush over Labor Day weekend, not only securing back-to-back main event starts against the All Star Circuit of Champions, but scoring a top-ten outcome in the process; his best result of the season against the national-level touring Series.
Impressive enough, Michael’s top-ten outcome commenced from the outside of row 12, eventually capping Friday’s preliminary feature in the tenth spot after starting 24th. The Plano, Texas-native, who resides in Fremont, Ohio, during the summer months, was forced to start deep after missing a transfer position in his respective heat race, advancing through the evening’s B-Main shortly thereafter.
Just one spot shy of matching his Friday night performance, Michael concluded his Attica Ambush appearance with an 11th-place rally during Saturday’s $10,000-to-win finale, doing so from 15th on the grid.
Other weekend results include finishing 12th during Wayne County Speedway’s Pete Jacobs Memorial on Sunday, September 6. Michael started 18th on the $13,000-to-win feature lineup.
“That was a great weekend for our team. We continue to prove that we have what it takes to pass cars and be a threat to win. We still have some things to work on, but we’re pretty pumped with the current pace we are on,” Michael said, driver of the Michael Motorsports, Advanced Architectural Stone, Crown Battery, Fremont Fence Company, Pro-Tech Services, Wood Heating and Air Conditioning, Kear’s Speed Shop, Wings Unlimited, Big D’s Pizza, No. 8M sprint car. “I can’t thank my team enough for all of their hard work this weekend. We’re starting to build a pretty solid rhythm. I’m excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for us.”
Michael and Michael Motorsports will continue their 2020 campaign with another doubleheader in the Buckeye State, first returning to Attica Raceway Park for its season ending program on Friday, September 11, followed by a trip to Fremont Speedway or Sharon Speedway on Saturday, September 12. A decision regarding Saturday’s destination will be made later in the week.
