FREMONT, Ohio (July 14, 2020) – T.J. Michael’s 2020 Ohio Sprint Speedweek campaign was competitive, without a doubt, and despite missing the top-ten column during his efforts, the ‘Texas Traveler’ gained valuable insight and plans to put those lessons to work beginning later today – Tuesday, July 14 – at Attica Raceway Park.
The annual Brad Doty Classic featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series is on Attica’s agenda and will award a top prize equalling $10,000. Michael, a former winner on the Attica highbanks aboard a 305 sprint car, is excited to join the Greatest Show On Dirt and hopes to once again qualify for one of Ohio’s premier sprint car showcases.
Incidentally, Michael’s top performance of Ohio Sprint Speedweek was at Attica Raceway Park. The Plano, Texas-native, who spends his summer months in Fremont, finished 17th after starting 17th; there were 46 cars on hand.
“I’m excited, for sure. It’s one of the biggest races on our calendar. And with Eldora Speedway not having the chance to open, this is the biggest race of our year, so far,” Michael said, driver of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Architectural Stone/Crown Battery/Fremont Fence Company/Pro-Tech Services/Wood Heating and Air Conditioning/Kear’s Speed Shop/Wings Unlimited/Big D’s Pizza/No. 8M sprint car. “Speedweek had its ups and down. I think we were faster than what the results show. When you’re racing against that level of talent every night, a fraction of a second can make or break your entire evening. But, we learned a lot and we had fun. We still have a lot of racing left on our schedule.”
A schedule beyond Attica Raceway Park’s Brad Doty Classic will be determined in the coming days. Those curious should stay alert on social media for continuing updates.
