Michael Looks Forward to Brownstown and Millstream After Tough Four-Race Stretch
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
FREMONT, Ohio (August 24, 2016) – After what turned out to be a discouraging weekend on the road with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, first experiencing motor trouble that nearly sidelined the Advanced Cast Stone/MJ Webb Enterprises/Roy Hardin Masonry/Wood Air Conditioning/Pro Tech Service Company/No. 8M entry, followed by two “DNF” finishes as the result of motor trouble and a wrecked race car, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael is out for redemption.
The 2016 Arctic Cat All Star rookie contender visited three Central Pennsylvania facilities, Grandview Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, and Lincoln Speedway, as well as one New York venue, Lebanon Valley Speedway, during the recent four-race stretch on August 18-21, recording a weekend high 12th place finish at Grandview Speedway and a 20th place finish at Lincoln Speedway. His top-12 performance in Bechtelsville was the result of a charge from row nine.
Michael’s Williams Grove Speedway and Lebanon Valley Speedway visits each ended before feature competition, losing a motor at “The Grove” before making contact with another competitor during heat race action at “The Valley of Speed.” All four facilities on the weekend schedule were new to MIchael’s traveling repertoire.
“Just not our weekend, but you’ll have that,” explained Michael, who has visited 20 new facilities during his Arctic Cat All Star travels in 2016. “It’s easy for us to want to get frustrated at times and second guess things, but we just take a step back and reevaluate. We are still new at traveling and most of these race tracks I’ve never even seen before. The motor issue almost cut our weekend short, but luckily Pete Grove stepped forward and allowed us to use one of his motors. We have a few days to get ourselves back in shape before we leave for Brownstown. We’ll be ready.”
The Plano, Texas, native who now resides in Fremont, Ohio, will use the upcoming Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions doubleheader at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana, and Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio, as a new starting point; kick starting a new string of positive momentum and solid finishes. Brownstown Speedway will host Arctic Cat All Star competition on Saturday, August 27, followed by the Millstream Speedway on Sunday, August 28.
In addition to a pair of Arctic Cat All Star starts, the “Texas Traveler” will pilot the George Hawkins-owned No. 89 this Friday night at Attica Raceway Park.
“I can’t thank George Hawkins and everyone enough for this opportunity,” Michael explained. “We’ve been racing a lot lately, but George stepped forward and offered me an opportunity to drive his race car during the 410 portion at Attica on Friday. I’m excited to see what we can do.”
T.J. Michael will enter the upcoming weekend with six top-ten feature finishes with Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions in 2016, qualifying for 30 main events. The recent high school graduate is currently seventh in the Arctic Cat All Star standings.
