PLANO, Texas (March 22, 2021) – The “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael concluded his southern swing with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series with a two-day campaign in the Lone Star State, this time visiting Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas – just 225 miles south of his Plano home – on Friday and Saturday, March 19-20.

Joining the best that sprint car racing had to offer, Michael took advantage of his return to Texas and qualified for each of the $10,000-to-win feature programs, finishing 16th and 20th, respectively, and highlighting the weekend with a five spot jump on Friday. Impressive enough, the Plano-native, who headquarters his race team in Fremont, Ohio, during the summer months, was forced to battle through Friday’s Last Chance Showdown before lining up 21st on the A-Main grid.

“I’m proud of this team and I’m proud of our results. It was a fun trip and hopefully we have the opportunity to do it again in the near future,” Michael explained, driver of the Michael Motorsports, Advanced Architectural Stone, Crown Battery, Fremont Fence Company, Pro-Tech Services, Wood Heating and Air Conditioning, Kistler Racing Engines, Elite Wings, Big D’s Pizza, Viva Los Healthy, M&L Graphics, HP Striping and Seal Coating, No 8M sprint car. “I can’t thank the entire team enough for their hard work this trip. My crew chief, AJ Havens, has a lot of experience racing out of the road and he’s seen it all. His experience level is only going to push us to improve. We get to visit some familiar territory this weekend. I’m ready for that.”

The “Texas Traveler” will return to the Buckeye State for his upcoming weekend of competition, setting aim on a pair of starts at Attica Raceway Park and Waynesfield Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday, March 26-27. Certainly no stranger to competition at each of the Ohio staples, Michael is a former winner on Waynesfield’s highbanks and nailed down a $5,000 FAST Series victory on August 2, 2019; Michael’s first victory in a 410 sprint car.
