FREMONT, Ohio (September 3, 2019) – Despite ending his Labor Day campaign on a sour note by missing All Star Circuit of Champions A-Main action during the coveted Brad Doty Classic on August 31, the ‘Texas Traveler’ T.J. Michael made his presence known during the holiday weekend and nearly marched his way to victory during a FAST Series start at Gas City Speedway in Gas City, Indiana, on Friday, August 30.
Certainly no stranger to finishing inside the top-five, the Plano, Texas-native, who resides in Fremont, Ohio, during the summer months, finished fourth at the always-racey quarter-mile on Friday night, utilizing the pole position to maintain his place inside the top-five the entire distance.
Michael, a recent big-money FAST Series winner in Waynesfield, Ohio, kicked-off his evening at the Gas City bullring with a runner-up finish during heat race competition.
“We were aiming for a better result at the Brad Doty Classic, but we’ll shake that off and keep moving forward. That’s all we can do,” Michael said, driver of the Michael Motorsports/Advanced Architectural Stone/Crown Battery/Fremont Fence Company/Pro-Tech Services/Wood Heating and Air Conditioning/Kear’s Speed Shop/Wings Unlimited/Soul Fully Rooted/Big D’s Pizza/No. 8M sprint car. “Regardless, we had a great night at Gas City the night before and I’m glad we made the trip. I’m proud of my team and what we’ve been able to accomplish this year. We have a lot of racing left. I’m excited to see how things unfold.”
