MIDWEST MAYHEM: Danny Dietrich second in PA Sprint Speedweek championship; Knoxville, Fremont and Eldora all ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (July 7, 2025) – Danny Dietrich’s goal of achieving back-to-back Speedweek championships, one in Ohio against the All Star Circuit of Champions and one in Pennsylvania during Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek, was one spot shy of becoming a reality, closing out Pennsylvania’s 2025 edition 37 points behind Dillsburg’s Anthony Macri.

Dietrich, a two-time PA Sprint Speedweek champion with his most recent occurring in 2021, capped the ten-race turned seven-race slate (due to Mother Nature) with seven top-tens, five top-fives and two victories, the first at BAPS Motor Speedway on Sunday, June 29, and the second at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 4. The Grove’s victory, dubbed the Mitch Smith Memorial, earned Dietrich a $20,000 payday – the fourth Williams Grove Speedway Speedweek triumph of Dietrich’s storied career.

Impressive, nonetheless, of Dietrich’s seven PA Sprint Speedweek performances, “Double-D” finished no worse than eighth, and even that was an impressive feat, climbing ahead from 13th at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” on July 2.

“I owe it all to the team and that’s the bottom line,” Dietrich, ace of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Speedway Volkswagen & Subaru, Self Made Racing, York Excavating, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, RV 4 Wheel Drive & Performance, No. 48 sprint car, said. “The guys worked their freakin’ tails off these last few weeks. Gary [Kauffman] allows us the opportunity to go out and race as much as we do and we’re certainly really appreciative of that. We wanted that Speedweek championship, but fell just short. We’re going to put that behind us in a hurry. We have a lot of racing coming up starting with Knoxville on Saturday, as long as the weather cooperates. We want to get a feel for that place before heading back out to the Nationals so why not head out now and turn some laps.”

ON DECK:
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2025 campaign with a busy slate across the Midwest, set to visit Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, July 12 (weather pending), followed by a High Limit Racing start at Fremont Speedway on Monday, July 14, and Eldora Speedway’s Kings Royal week on Wednesday through Saturday, July 16-19.
