Miley Claims ULMS Title; Ready for Dirt Track World Championship

Pittsburgh, PA (October 12, 2015) – “The Jet” Jared Miley officially ended his 2015 ULMS Racing Series title run by earning a tenth place performance during Fall Classic competition at the McKean County Raceway near East Smethport, Pennsylvania. It was a career-first accomplishment for the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native, clinching the 2015 championship well before the Fall Classic weekend finale on October 10. The top-ten finish was far from easy for the former Lernerville Speedway champ, a strong recovery after being involved in two feature cautions. Miley will move ahead and attempt to transfer his championship momentum from ULMS Racing Series competition to Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition.
“It was a rough night for us at McKean, but we recovered and that is all that matters” said Miley, “Earning the ULMS title is pretty special. This is something we’ve never done before so it is a great accomplishment for our team. We have a big weekend ahead in Ohio so hopefully this momentum moves ahead with us. I can’t thank my crew, family and supporters enough for what they do for me. Our season is still far from over. We’ll keep working and try to get a few more wins.”
Jared Miley and the Jared Miley Racing, Colussy Chevrolet, Octane Graphix, Brougher’s Machine Shop, Ireland’s Bait Shop of Elk County, Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic, DLB Metals, Schaeffer’s Racing Oil, #H1 team will begin preparations for a full weekend at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. Miley will join the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, as well as super late model stars from around the nation, for the 35th annual Optima Batteries Dirt Track World Championship. The “crown jewel” event will award $100,000 after 100 laps of green flag action on Saturday evening, October 17, beginning with preliminary competition on Friday night, October 16. Jared Miley is no stranger to long distance, high profile events, finishing third during the 100-lap, $30,000-to-win, Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.
“We are pretty excited about the upcoming weekend” said Miley, “It will be a true test for our team. I think we have the potential to qualify for the main event, we’ll just need to take advantage of every lap we get on the track. We’ve raced in a few 100-lappers this season so we know what we have to do. We’ll stay focused the entire weekend and try to work our way up front.”
