Cory Haas’ recent stretch of bad luck at Lincoln Speedway continued earlier this evening as the York native lost an engine while running third in the 25 lap sprint car main event. Last Saturday afternoon (3/10/12), the former Lincoln Speedway 358 track champ was involved in a last lap caution- ending his night one circuit early in 17th.
The $3,200-to-win event this evening (3/17/12) saw Keen Motorsports pilot, Brian Leppo, take home the checkers. Twelfth place starter Brian Montieth was second, with ninth place starter Danny Dietrich rounding out the podium positions. This was Leppo’s eighth career Lincoln sprint car victory.
Haas’ evening started out much better than it ended; holding off Danny Dietrich and Brian Leppo for a heat race victory.
The familiar 11c will be back in action next Friday and Saturday evening for it’s first double-race weekend of 2012. The Fully Injected member will venture to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday night – before heading back to Lincoln Speedway on Saturday.
