NAPA Night Action


PITTSBURGH, PA – May 30, 2012 – The month of June kicks off this Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway as we present another “Action Event” starring the Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models, Brougher’s Machine Shop FASTRAK/Pro-Late Models, Sunoco Race Fuels DIRTCar Late Model Sportsman, Miley BP Car Wash DIRTcar Hobby Stocks and Imperial Heights Garage DIRTcar Young Guns. The evening’s racing action will be sponsored by the Pittsburgh area NAPA Auto Parts stores.

“We are excited to welcome the Pittsburgh area NAPA Auto Parts store owners back for their second event of the 2012 season,” commented Speedway Owner Matt Miley. “This marks the third year we have partnered with NAPA to provide free grandstand admission to patrons who present $25.00 of qualifying NAPA receipts. It’s definitely an excellent way for the fans to enjoy an exciting night of racing action and also get those “do it yourself” auto repairs done.”

The Hobby Stock competitors will be featured in their Spring Championship event. Thus far in 2012 Chase Evans has been the only repeat winner with two victories. Ed Wiser, Eric Goldberg and Joe Podolinsky have each tallied one win and all are expected to vie for the win this week.

Pittsburgh Circle Track Club members will receive Free Grandstand Admission and the club will also award plaques to the feature winners.

In addition, the Chartiers Valley Primary Center Night. All Chartiers Valley students who present a valid student ID or current report card will receive Free Grandstand Admission. The Chartiers students donated toys to the Racers For Tots Christmas Toy Drive and will also perform “God Bless America” as part of the evening’s opening ceremonies.

The Pit and Grandstand Admission Gates for all Saturday events open at 5:00PM with the first green flag waving promptly at 7:00PM.

In 2012, the management of Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will utilize a Sunday evening rain date in the event Mother Nature fails to cooperate with the Saturday night racing action. Times for the Sunday rain dates are as follows: Pit and Grandstand Admission Gates open at 4:00PM, Hot Laps at 5:00PM and Racing at 6:00PM.

Adult Grandstand Admission for this Saturday is $13.00. Seniors, Ages 60 and Over, are admitted for $12.00 with Juniors, Ages 13 to 16, priced at $9.00. Admission for Children aged Six through 12 is $5.00 and Children Under Age Six will be admitted Free. In addition, all children aged Six through 12 will receive a free gift when they present their admission ticket at the PPMS Gift Shop, which now features Apparel by Denise. Pit Admission for this week’s racing is $25.00.

Fans are also invited to bring their own refreshments however; glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are not permitted. In addition, coolers are limited to 14 inches or smaller in size. And don’t forget that the Checkered Flag Food Court has a great variety of delicious food like monster chicken wings, grilled chicken sandwiches, curly fries and cotton candy at “fan friendly prices.”
