The Williams Grove National Open has gotten bigger and better every year giving race teams and fans something to look forward to all year long. With so many things going on, on and off the track we need a schedule of events to help keep everyone up to speed of what exactly is happening and when. So here is latest:
-Friday Sept 28th-
12:00PM- Williams Grove National Open Kick-It For Kids Cancer Kickball Tournament– Upper Allen Twp. Community Park on Fisher Rd. – Registration begins at 12:00pm noon, Kick off @ 12:30pm. Expected to last until 3:30pm.Volunteers are asked to show up at 10:30 to help setup. NO ALCOHOL will be permitted at the park. Thanks for you consideration.
1978 Fisher Rd. Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 located at the intersection of Fisher Rd and W. Meadow Drive approximately three miles north of Williams Grove Speedway. To get there from the speedway, head North two miles on Williams Grove Rd, then turn right onto Fisher Road. From there continue for a mile with the park located on your right. It is free to come out and watch but we encourage everyone to donate.
An elimination style tournament, limited to 12 teams will determine the Kick-It Champion. Each team will be allowed up to 10 defensive players on the field at one time but with unlimited substitutions. The first three rounds of the tournament will consist of 5 inning games lasting up to 30 minutes. 6 teams will advance to the second round. Three teams will continue to the semi-final round along with a 4th team, that gets a second chance (who raises the most money for Kick-It and was previously eliminated) The Semi-Final round will determine the Championship Game between the final two teams with a max of 6 innings lasting up to 45 minutes of play to determine the Williams Grove National Open Kick-It Champion.
Event T-Shirts, food and drinks will all be available at the event with all proceeds benefiting the Kick-It Foundation. Cash and Check donations can be made on behalf of your favorite team at the field throughout the event. A raffle during the tournament is also planned. If you would like to donate an item of interest to be raffled please contact jason@paposseracing.com. Former NASCAR Champion Jeff Gordon will be matching all funds from this event. All proceeds benefit the Kick-It for Kids Cancer Research. Captains be sure your players all have directions and information for the Tournament. Carpooling to the event is encouraged. Extra parking can be found along W. Meadow Drive and E. Meadow Drive.
7:30PM- Preliminary Night of the Williams Grove National Open- Williams Grove Speedway, 1 Speedway Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, $8000 to win- World of Outlaws Sanctioned event complete with fireworks. The 410 Sprint cars will be the only division on the racing card. Time Trials begin at 7:30pm. Admission is $30 for adults and $15 for Youths.

10:00AM-Williams Grove National Open Chili Cookoff– Williams Grove Speedway, 1 Speedway Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, peoples choice will start at 10am, turn in of the chili will be 12pm, cooks meeting at 9:30am- times will be syncronized here
judges meeting at 11:30, Entries so far: RACEWENCH CHILI, CAMPFIRE CHILI, SWEET HOT PEPPERS CHILI, CHECKERED FLAG CHILI, NACHO CHILI, CHILI RX, BELLYFLOP CHILI. 3 more entries needed to make it official!!! 11:00AM-Williams Grove National Open EMMR Silent Auction– Williams Grove Speedway, 1 Speedway Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, Will be taking place in the infield during the Chili Cookoff from 11am-12:30pm. All proceeds from this auction will benefit the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing.
11:00AM-National Open Benefit and Auction presented by O’Neill Racewear – Williams Grove Speedway, 1 Speedway Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, Will be taking place behind the backstretch pit area in the parking lot from 11am-3pm. All proceeds from this auction and feed will benefit the York County Racing Club Injured Drivers Fund. This event will highlighted by a BBQ dinner, a benefit auction with items from drivers and teams from all across the country, and a World of Outlaws drivers autograph session. Each plate of food is $8 per person, with all money going towards the York County Racing Club Injured Drivers Fund. The dinner will have chicken, baked beans, cole slaw or potato salad, dinner roll, chips, and a soda or bottle of water. The auction and autograph session are free to the public! Auction items to date: 50th Annual Williams Grove National Open side board, Denny Hamlin – replical signed fedex helment, Kasey Kahne signed checkerd flags from NASCAR wins, Sam Hefertepe Jr – Rudeen Racing #26 Hood, Kyle Larson – Kick it to Cancer #57 Side Board, Brent Kaeding #69 Side Board, Shane Stewart- Rockstar Energy Side Board and many more.
-National Open Bean Bag Tournament– Williams Grove Speedway, 1 Speedway Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, Will be taking place in from 2:30pm-?. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Fund.
7:30PM-Final Night of the Williams Grove National Open- Williams Grove Speedway, 1 Speedway Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, $50,000 to win- World of Outlaws Sanctioned event complete with fireworks. The 410 Sprint cars will be the only division on the racing card. Time Trials begin at 7:30pm. Admission is $35 for adults and $15 for Youths. (Sept 30th Rain Date)
