Effective beginning with the May 9 and 10 events at Atomic Speedway the following changes have been made to the National Dirt Racing League 2014 Rule book.
Section 3.1 Original Starts
Inside pole position drivers sets a steady and moderate pace coming to the green flag. The inside pole sitter will be allowed to start the race within the Schaeffer’s Oil Start Zone. The Schaeffer’s Oil Start Zone is marked by 2 yellow buckets set 35 feet apart in turn 4. Starts must occur within this area.
Outside pole sitter should remain even – nose to nose and side-by-side maintaining the double-file formation.
If any driver commits a false or jumped start the start maybe called back. The offending driver or drivers will be warned via RaceCeiver and given another opportunity to start correctly. A 2nd offense will result in a 1 row penalty the offending driver or drivers.
The assembled field should remain nose to tail and in the double-file formation until the green flag is displayed. No driver should lay back or break formation. This may be considered a jump and the driver could face a penalty on the next yellow flag period or at the end of the event.
Section 12.22 Weight
At qualifying a car must weigh a minimum of 2,300 lbs. as weighed on the track scales for a car with an aluminum engine block.
At qualifying a car must weigh a minimum of 2,250 lbs. as weighed on the track scales for a car with a crate motor.
At qualifying a car must weigh a minimum of 2,250 lbs. as weighed on the track scales for a car with a Steel Block engine.
All engine configurations will be allowed a one (1) pound per lap fuel burn-off for heat races, B-Mains and A-Main.
