NDRL’s ULMS and UEMS This Friday Night at the NDRL’s McKean County Raceway

Smethport, PA (May 7, 2013) The NDRL’s McKean County Raceway has successfully beat mother-nature the first two weeks in the 2013 campaign. The track will try again on Friday night as the National Dirt Racing League’s United Late Model Series makes their second visit of the young season for a $3000 to win super late model event. Also making their first visit of the season will be the NDRL’s A&MP Electric United Emod Series along with a full card of RUSH Crate Late Models, Close Racing Supply Street Stocks and mini stocks.

Ron Davies of Warren and the “Captain” Jason DuPont of Cyclone are the current track co point leaders for the super late model division. Davies won the track opener two weeks ago, while former ULMS and MCR champion Bob Close won last week. They will have to defend series travelers, Dave Hess Jr. of Waterford, Russ King of Bristolville, Ohio, Mike Knight of Ripley, Greg Oakes and Boom Briggs will be some of the stars on hand for the $3000 prize money.

The NDRL’s UEMS Emods will also be in action for the first time at their home track. Randy Hall of Olean is currently the series and track point leader. Ron Davies is currently tied with Hall as the tracks co point leader in the division with Hall. Both drivers have won the first two weeks and no doubt will be looking to keep any of the UEMS outsiders from taking away their money. UEMS stars of Brent Rhebergen, Vic Vena, defending champion Carl McKinney of Mars, PA, Michael McGee, Ken Zimmer and local favorite Steve Dixon will all be on hand. A quality field of entries is expected for the $1000 to win touring series event.

Can anyone slow down the 2012 national champion, Max Blair in the RUSH Crate late model division? Blair has won both nights at MCR convincingly and he even won last Saturday night in his dad’s super late model at Marion Center Speedway. Ed Carley of Freedom, Chad Ruhlman of Bemis Point and Bob Kish of Belfast all have had stellar runs so far this year and they along with twenty plus other competitors will be looking to knock Blair off the winner pedestal this Friday night.

Larry Mitchell Jr of Smethport has won both nights as well and Mt. Jewett’s Chris Parr and Mitch Boylan are just lacking that little extra horsepower to out run Mitchell. Will Parr and Boylan or someone else stop Mitchell’s two week dominance this week?

The Close Racing Supply Street Stocks have seen two different winners this year in Adam Ashcroft and Andy Michael. Allegany’s, Brad Ullman sits on top of the early season point battle despite not seeing victory lane yet. The top seven point cars are within 10 points of each other setting up for a long season of point chasing in one of the most exciting divisions at MCR. Will there be a third new winner this Friday night? Come find out at 7PM Friday night at the NDRL’s McKean County Raceway in E. Smethport PA. Grandstands open at 5PM with tickets $15 for adults $12 for Seniors, children 12 and under free and pit passes are $35.
