Never Too Early to Title Chase, Alan Krimes in the Hunt at Lincoln;
Potential Three-Race Weekend on Deck for AK87
DENVER, Pa. (April 28, 2016) – The season is young, but positioning is everything. Alan Krimes, a former Lincoln Speedway 410 track champion, will enter the last weekend of April well within reach of the top of the Lincoln Speedway standings. After a series of strong finishes in the Pigeon Hills, resulting in five top-ten finishes, three of which inside the top-five, the Denver, Pennsylvania, native has positioned himself second in the championship hunt, only ten points behind Jim Siegel. Krimes has finished as high as second during feature competition at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway in 2016, advancing from tenth on the grid on April 16.
“We still have a long season ahead of us, but we definitely want to have the advantage leading into the last half of the year,” said Alan Krimes. “It’s always tough to talk about championships in April, but it all starts this time of the year. You never want to find yourself buried.”
Alan Krimes will continue his 2016 Central Pennsylvania campaign with a potential three-race weekend this Friday through Sunday, April 29 – May 1. Krimes, pilot of the Wayne Corini CPA, Krimes Racing Engines, VRP Shocks, Abe Service Company, Glick’s Auto Body & Towing, Roadrunner Race Fuels, No. 87, will visit Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday night, April 29, followed by a trip back to Lincoln Speedway in the Pigeon Hills on Saturday evening, April 30. Lincoln Speedway will host the 13th annual Weldon Sterner Memorial, awarding a $6,900 top prize after 33 laps of feature action.
Although plans for Sunday still stand uncertain, the potential plan is to visit Path Valley Speedway Park in Spring Run for the $4,000-to-win, “Party at the Path.” The May 1 program will be the first of three Fred Rahmer promoted 410 events at Path Valley in 2016.
“We haven’t decided on Sunday just yet,” said Alan Krimes. “We have some other things planned for Sunday. If we have a solid weekend up until that point, we may decide to head over there. We’ll wait and see what happens. I just want to take a minute to thank all of our sponsors. We are a family-owned operation, so their help and support keeps us well prepared and competitive. We appreciate everything.”
