Williams Grove National Open Kick-It Tournament
By, Jason Bly

We are less than 4 weeks away from the Williams Grove National Open Kick-It Tournament! The tournament will be held Friday, October 4th at the Upper Allen Township Community Park, 1978 Fisher Road, approximately three miles north of Williams Grove Speedway. Like our event last year, we understand that it may be a work day for many but in order avoid interfering with the many other great racing charities already planned for the weekend, we will again hold this event on Friday afternoon. With that in mind, come out for the fun while we raise money for Kick-It.

If you are interested in playing kickball with other race car drivers, team members, racing personalities and race fans, sign yourself up through our National Open Kick-It page at http://www.kick-it.org/events/2nd-annual-williams-grove-national or contact jason@paposseracing.com to be added to a team. We encourage a $10 donation or greater per player when you sign up to help reach our goal of $20,000. There are a limited number openings left! It is free to come out and watch but everyone is encouraged to visit our Kick-It page and donate or bring cash or a check to donate while you are there. Registration will begin the day of the event NO EARLIER than 11:30 a.m. and will stop when the first game begins around 12:15 pm. There will be an elimination style tournament, with 16 teams. Each team is encouraged to have no more than 15 players. The WAKA rulebook will be used for this tournament which can be found at http://www.kickball.com/files/KICKBALL_OFFICIAL_RULES_2012.pdf. Each round will have 5 inning games, and a total of 4 rounds, with the Championship round between the final two teams determining the Williams Grove National Open Kick-It Champion.

A prize raffle will again be held this year and you pick the item you want to place your raffle ticket in the drawing for. Various racing teams and organizations have donated items to be given as raffle prizes. Raffle tickets will be sold at the event and that money raised will also go towards the Kick-It foundation. Teams that raise over $1500 in total donations for their team will receive 1 extra raffle ticket per player.

Those business sponsors and personal donators that have given $150 or more by online donation will receive 3 additional raffle tickets to be used during the prize giveaway at the end of the event. Please stop by the registration table from 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. on October 4 to receive your tickets. We will have your name on a sheet as long as you did not give an anonymous donation and amount, we cannot give tickets for those amounts we cannot verify. If you do not wish to place an online donation please stop by the registration table at the event or mail your donation (make checks payable to Kick-It): PAPosseracing, LLC, 1550 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331. To make a cash donation of $150 or more and receive your tickets, come to the event with your donation, see us at the registration table to receive your raffle tickets for your $150+ donation, then you may place the funds in any of the teams jar(s) you wish the money to go towards. Our hope is to also have many other prizes to give away to those teams and players that raise the most money for the Kick-It Foundation. If your business or race team would like to donate something to the raffle please contact jason@paposseracing.com. Up for grabs so far this year are Target gift card, Arooga’s gift basket and more to come!

We are also looking for event sponsors to help us provide, snacks, drinks, trophies, supplies, signage, umpire shirts and other donations. Please contact us by emailing jason@paposseracing.com for a sponsorship packet. Also if you would like to volunteer to be an umpire, score keeper, or help with registration, setup and cleanup please contact us! Our hope is to also have many other prizes to give away to those teams and players that raise the most money for the Kick-It Foundation. We will have many other updates and releases from now until Game Day at PAPosseracing.com, our PAPosseracing Facebook page as well as on our twitter account @jasonbly.
