NRA Doubleheader Next for “Mad Max” Stambaugh

ELIDA, Ohio (July 21, 2016) – An NRA “360” Sprint Invaders doubleheader stands ahead for Elida, Ohio’s Max Stambaugh. The 2015 NRA championship runner-up will attempt to score his first win of 2016 during his short tour of northwestern Ohio, set to visit Limaland Motorsports Park and Waynesfield Raceway Park this Friday and Saturday, July 22-23. “Mad Max” currently finds himself second in the NRA championship hunt trailing Jared Horstman by 14 points.
“We’ve had an up and down season so far, for sure,” Stambaugh explained. “We’ve been close to getting into victory lane, just haven’t quite made it happen yet. Our goal right now is to stay consistent and keep ourselves within championship reach. Jared (Horstman) has been good all year. We are going to have to keep from making any mistakes if we want to catch him.”
“Mad Max” Stambaugh earned a top-ten finish during his most recent K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders start on Friday evening, July 15. After qualifying sixth out of 18 entries, the Elida, Ohio, native went on to finish second during his respective heat race, all before finishing sixth during the 25-lap main event. A similar outcome occurred during the Summer Sprint Sizzler at Waynesfield Raceway Park on July 3, finishing fifth during main event competition after starting 13th.
“We’ve been consistent, just not finishing as high as we’d like,” Stambaugh said. “Regardless, we’ll keep working hard and try to better ourselves. I want to thank everyone who helps us out. We have a lot of great supporters who make my season possible. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their help. I’m excited to see how the upcoming weekend unfolds.”
