“Off With The Tops” Tour Next for Joe Martin Motorsports
Two Nights of RUSH Touring Series Action This Friday and Saturday At Lernerville and Sharon

Ringgold, PA (July 1st, 2013) – After spending the recent weekend off from competition to better enjoy the ‘Firecracker 100’ Presented by GottaRace.com at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania, Joe Martin, and Joe Martin Motorsports (JM2 Motorsports), will return to crate late model competition this Friday and Saturday, July 5th & 6th for a pair of Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series events in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio. Martin, who pilots the JM2 Motorsports, Allegheny Crane Rental, The George Washington Hotel, Spartan Thru Tubing, Extreme Plastics Plus, no. 55 crate late model, will be taking part in the Sweeney RUSH “Off With The Tops” weekend tour Presented by RainEater Wiper Blades this Friday and Saturday, July 5th & 6th; which will feature Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series competitors racing without their ‘tops.’ The ‘topless’ theme was adopted due to the fact that the series will be sharing the racetrack each night this weekend with the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (B.O.S.S.) non-wing sprint cars.
The Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series “Off With The Tops” weekend will kick-off on Friday evening, July 5th at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Joe Martin is a former winner at the Sarver 4/10’s mile dirt oval; recently picking up a ‘King of the Hill’ victory at the speedway during the 2012 season. The Friday night ‘topless’ crate late model event at the Lernerville Speedway will be highlighted with a $1,200-to-win main event. Joe Martin, and the JM2 Motorsports ‘55’ team, hopes to kick-off the Sweeney RUSH weekend in a positive manner, and score a victory at the world-famous Lernerville Speedway. This will be Joe Martin’s second start of the 2013 season at the state-of-the-art facility; with Martin’s first attempt resulting in mechanical failure, and a 19th place finish. This Friday night is the perfect opportunity for Martin to better that performance.
Joe Martin will continue his upcoming weekend with the Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series on Saturday evening, July 6th with another “Off With The Tops” Presented by RainEater Wiper Blades program; this time, at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. The Saturday night ‘topless’ crate late model program will feature a $2,000-to-win main event for the Sweeney RUSH dirt late models; with a Sweeney GM 604 engine also being given away. Martin has been in action at the Sharon Speedway on three (3) different occasions already in 2013; resulting in three (3) top-ten finishes. Two (2) of Martin’s top-ten finishes at the Sharon Speedway were inside the top-five; including one (1) podium finish. Joe Martin is also a former winner at the Sharon Speedway 3/8’s mile oval; earning a crate victory at the speedway during the 2012 season. As an added bonus, this weekend’s pair of events will also accumulate points towards the “Cross The Borders” Speedweek championship for the Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series; which will continue next Wednesday, July 10th at the Expo Speedway in Cortland, Ohio. More information on that event to be released soon. The “Cross The Borders” Speedweek champion will earn $1,000.
Joe Martin and his JM2 Motorsports, Allegheny Crane Rental, The George Washington Hotel, Spartan Thru Tubing, Extreme Plastics Plus, ‘55’ will enter the upcoming weekend fifth (5th) in the current Sweeney RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series standings; on the strength of five (5) top-five finishes and and two (2) podium appearances while on tour. Joe Martin has nineteen (19) total starts during his 2013 campaign thus far (FASTRAK and/or RUSH); earning a remarkable seventeen (17) top-ten finishes and fourteen (14) top-five finishes. The Western Pennsylvania native has one (1) victory in 2013 thus far; that coming at the Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania during Sweeney RUSH Weekly Series competition.
