FREMONT, Ohio (October 17, 2023) – Effective immediately, Rich Farmer, former Fremont Speedway promoter and two-time Regional Promoter of the Year, and wife, Shelly Farmer, are back at the helm of “The Track That Action Built,” commencing a new five-year lease that will activate officially with the Speedway’s annual Swap Meet on Saturday, October 28. Farmer, who promoted Fremont Speedway for a ten-year stint beginning in 2008, is ready to begin a new chapter at the northwest Ohio staple, hoping to continue a longstanding tradition that not only includes a competitive weekly schedule, but a stout list of specials and annual events.

“Shelly and I are excited to begin another chapter as promoters of Fremont Speedway. It’s a track with a long history and a lot of tradition, and we’re going to do everything we can to elevate Fremont Speedway to one of the top facilities in the country,” Rich Farmer stated. “We have a lot of work to do, but we’re up for the challenge. It all begins now.”

As noted, Fremont Speedway will host its annual Swap Meet on Saturday, October 28. At that time, Rich and Shelly will be meeting with the Fremont Speedway staff, as well as drivers and owners within the 410, 305, and dirt truck divisions. Meetings will be conducted in the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame, located just behind the main grandstands, beginning with staff at 11 a.m., followed by a 410 sprint car meeting at noon, 305 sprint car meeting at 1 p.m., and dirt truck meeting at 2 p.m. Only the driver and/or owner from each team should be present.

More news and information pertaining to Fremont Speedway’s 2024 schedule will be available in the coming weeks. Those wanting to stay alert should visit Fremont Speedway online at, as well as follow along on all of Fremont’s respective social media outlets.
