ST. HELENA, Calif. (June 7, 2021) – Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing put together an impressive string of results during the recent weekend, capping their four-day, four-race All Star Circuit of Champions swing through Illinois and Wisconsin with four consecutive top-five finishes, highlighting their extended weekend with a runner-up performance at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, on Thursday, June 3. Abreu’s Fairbury run commenced from row three, working around All Star full-timer Bill Balog with two laps remaining to secure the second level on the podium.

A fifth-place score at Wilmot Raceway on Friday, June 4, was followed-up with back-to-back third-place finishes at Plymouth Dirt Track and Angell Park Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, June 5-6. Of the pair, Abreu’s performance at Plymouth was most impressive. Not afflicted by a fourth-row starting position, Abreu moved through the field in a hurry, utilizing the track’s heavy curb to power ahead from eighth to third by the end of 30 circuits. Impressive enough, the 30-lap contest went caution free.

Abreu’s third-place outcome at Angell Park Speedway concluded the four-race agenda through the upper Midwest. Starting from the pole position, Abreu was the man in charge for the first ten circuits, forced to give up the top spot when eventual winner, Bill Balog, powered by Abreu off of turn four on lap 11. The slingshot move was initiated when Abreu attempted to get through the corner on the bottom, ultimately missing the moisture and allowing Balog to drive by.

“I’m proud of my team. Things are clicking and it feels good to be in a position to win every single night,” Rico Abreu said, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Rowdy Energy/Curb Records/Lucas Oil Products/Self Made/The Wiser Agency/Stadelhofer Construction/Salty’s BBQ/No. 24 sprint car. “I just can’t say enough about my team and what we’ve been able to put together. We’re communicating well and we’re building some rhythm that will hopefully act as an advantage during Ohio Sprint Speedweek. I can’t wait to see all of our Ohio friends again. It’s going to be a fun week.”

Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with the 39th edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek featuring Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions, set to kick-off Friday, June 11, at Attica Raceway Park. Attica’s lidlifter will ignite an eight-race schedule over nine days with eight tracks on the agenda, all of which awarding a minimum of $6,000. The Speedweek finale at Portsmouth Raceway Park, dubbed the Dean Knittel Memorial, will award a top prize equaling $17,554.

After the Attica opener on June 11, Ohio Sprint Speedweek will continue with appearances at Fremont Speedway on Saturday, June 12, Wayne County Speedway on Monday, June 14, Sharon Speedway on Tuesday, June 15, Waynesfield Raceway Park on Wednesday, June 16, Muskingum County Speedway on Thursday, June 17, Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday, June 18, and Portsmouth Raceway Park on Saturday, June 19.
