ST. HELENA, California (September 30, 2019) – After a month of action on the West Coast, St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu made his return to the eastern time zone during the recent weekend, this time joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, as well as the All Star Circuit of Champions, during the two-day 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway on Friday and Saturday, September 27 & 28.

Certainly a highlight on his annual racing calendar, Rico Abreu transformed his pair of 4-Crown starts into one top-ten finish, highlighting both days with a ninth place outing against Tony Stewart’s All Stars on Saturday, September 28. Bumping his top-ten total to 47 on the season, Abreu’s charge to ninth commenced from the outside of row seven, eventually advancing five positions in 25 circuits.

Although missing the top-ten against the World of Outlaws during the 4-Crown opener on Friday, the end-result was still positive, ending action with a rally from 22nd to 15th.

“Man, I love Eldora Speedway,” Rico Abreu explained, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Golden State Restaurant Group/Lucas Oil Products/Southern Pacific Farms/Priority Aviation/Self Made Racing/Dancer Logistics/No. 24 sprint car. “It’s a great place to race and we’ve had a lot of positive results there. I wish we had more opportunities to go there, to be honest.”

Tentatively, Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu Racing will return to action on Friday and Saturday, October 4 & 5, with a two-day visit to Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) will be on hand to sanction both days of competition.

Abreu, who owns six wins in 2019, including a recent triumph in Placerville, California, is a former MOWA winner at Jacksonville Speedway.
