ST. HELENA, Calif. (May 25, 2020) – Once again joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu made the trip from his Indiana-based, Midwest headquarters to the highbanks of Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 during the recent weekend, entering back-to-back nights with the Greatest Show On Dirt in search of another $20,000 top prize. Although Abreu’s results were short of the podium, the two-time Ironman 55 champion put on a hard-fought performance on Saturday to finish 13th after starting from row ten.

Adding a little drama to his Saturday night result, Abreu, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Lucas Oil/Priority Aviation/Self Made Racing/Salty’s BBQ/ShopRico.com/No. 24 sprint car, suffered from a flat tire during his rally from 19th to 13th and was forced to restart at the tail of the field. Abreu was racing in the 11th position when the flat tire occurred.

Abreu opened his two-day visit to I-55 with a B-Main appearance on Friday, finishing seventh after starting ninth to miss main event action by three spots. There were over 60 cars on the grounds for each of the World of Outlaws programs.

“It was a good recovery for my team. I’m proud of these guys. We’re starting to get more and more comfortably with the car. It just takes laps. We’re getting there,” Rico Abreu said. “I just can’t thank everyone enough for their support, my partners and fans included. It takes a lot to move this team up and down the road and I wouldn’t be where I am today without everyone’s love and support.”

Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing have not finalized plans for the coming weekend, but fans should stay alert on social media for continuing updates pertaining to Rico Abreu’s racing agenda.
